A special letter for young people of the parish is available at the Church doors this weekend.
You can also download a copy of it here.
It was prepared for all the students at Mary Immaculate Secondary School for their Mass for the opening of the new school year. The letter contains some reflections on the core of our Christian faith as well as a warm invitation to get involved in parish life and in various faith groups for young people. Please circulate it freely among all our young parishioners. I would love to have more youth involvement in all aspects of the life of our parish.
Are you a young adult in the age group 18-35ish, and interested in faith and community? If so, I would encourage you to also take a copy of the letter for young parishioners. The invitations it contains to the various ministries and activities are also addressed to you. In particular I am exploring the possibility of setting up a parish faith group for single and married parishioners in this age-bracket, possibly combining friendly social gatherings with some prayer and study of scripture and the Catholic faith. We might also get involving some works of local service and social justice and maybe, over time, join pilgrimage to places such as Lourdes, Rome, the Holy Land and World Youth Day in 2013 in Brazil. If you think you might be interested in such a parish group please contact me anytime.
